I was very honored to be a presenter at The 3rd Annual #BeKindBeCool Global Video and Kindness Awards ceremony taking place at Military Square featuring a prominent celebration and winner announcements showcased on a digital billboard in Times Square, NYC. Hosted by Gan Jing World and the Epoch Times (The Chinese epoch times the news paper, the largest chinese media in North America) the global initiative celebrates youth mental health, digital wellbeing, and inspiring acts of kindness worldwide.
The awards were designed to recognize creators, community acts, and student art entries promoting mental health and anti bullying across in more than 50 countries.
The organization’s mission is touse their international platform to create a youth friendly environment with art, essays and digital content.
Along with me was Lt Colonel Boyd “the Rainmaker” Melson and former Olympian, Eric Kelley. Supporting the campaign were NJ Governor Mikie Sherill, Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey and Lt Governor Kim Driscoll.
Particularly amazing was winner Samia Ali, whose video won first prize. She and her family enjoyed seeing her on the Times Square Billboard.
What a privilege to get an award and be among this great group.
