This year, we are coming together to honor the International Day of the Girl in 2023. The event aims to bridge distances, embrace the voices of girls from across the globe, and inspire change. Whether you can join us in person at the United Nations Headquarters or virtually through Zoom, you are invited to be part of this inspiring journey.

About the In-Person Event
Imagine standing where history and hope converge – Girls Speak Out at the United Nations, celebrating IDG 2023. Due to a change in space availability, we’ve rescheduled the event to Tuesday, October 10th. It’s a moment to cherish as we lead up to International Day of the Girl. We warmly invite you to celebrate IDG with us! This event is for girls aged 12 and above and is sponsored by the Working Group on Girls and the missions of Canada, Peru, Türkiye, UN Women, UNICEF, and UNFPA.
Please note: The UN Headquarters prioritizes your health, following guidelines from the World Health Organization, CDC, New York State, and New York City. While full COVID-19 vaccination is highly recommended, we won’t ask for proof. Masks are a friendly suggestion, not a requirement.

Picture yourself in a virtual world, where voices know no borders – Virtual Girls Speak Out at the United Nations, celebrating IDG 2023. We’ve rescheduled this gathering to Tuesday, October 10th, to maximize the joy of leading up to International Day of the Girl. Join us in this ageless celebration, starting from 12 years old and above. It’s made possible by the Working Group on Girls and the missions of Canada, Peru, Türkiye, UN Women, UNICEF, and UNFPA.
For groups: Each girl has her own unique story. Register each attendee individually, up to 20 at a time. Register when you have all the info you need.
Child protection and safeguarding measures are in place, and we urge organizations to follow their own safeguards and practices.
This year’s Girls Speak Out isn’t just an event; it’s a tapestry of dreams, a symphony of voices, and a pledge to make every girl’s journey brighter. Whether you’re present at the UN Headquarters or with us through the virtual realm, your spirit adds to this beautiful melody.
