Four tolls of the bell signify a new lease on life for four women, four warriors who have triumphed over breast cancer.
In the presence of Christiane Manzur, President of WBC Cares Mexico; boxers Mariana Juárez and Matshidiso Mokebisi; Erika Ortiz and Alejandra Barrón from the COI Foundation (International Oncological Center), the four patients experienced their most significant moment of life: ringing the bell symbolizing their victory over the disease.
During a gathering with more women, Christiane Manzur reiterated her admiration and praised them for rising like true warriors. “Thank you for allowing us to be here with you today,” she said.
Mariana Juárez remembered her mother, who succumbed to the disease, emphasizing the importance of early detection. “You have defeated it, and that’s why I say you are an example and true warriors,” she said.
For South African boxer Mokebisi, it was a moment of inspiration. “I want to thank you for allowing me to be here. We are very strong, and I ask you to continue in this fight.”
Erika Ortiz, Director of the COI Foundation, expressed gratitude for the support of WBC and WBC Cares. “It has been crucial for the patients and for us as a foundation to have WBC with us for a long time. They have helped us bring different moments to so many women,” she said.
The COI Foundation presented WBC Cares with a Tree of Life painted by patients undergoing treatment and recovery from breast cancer.
