Juneteenth at the People’s House in NYC (Gracie Mansion) was a delight.

The music rocked, live and DJ, and the food was delicious – soul food (of course) and variety of pies and cookies from some top bakers.

The speeches were hopeful and passionate and took us on a journey that started 159 years ago when the last of the slaves were liberated in Texas, to today, when the mayor of NY, an African American, took the stage and inspired the invited crowd.
And then, he put on his WBC Champion cap.

The WBC has been very active in celebrating Juneteenth, and will continue to honor freedom and diversity everywhere.
