KO to Bullying: WBC Cares Visits El Seguro del Maestro Primary School
As part of the WBC Cares campaigns, a successful talk titled “KO to Bullying” took place at El Seguro del Maestro Primary School in the Álvaro Obregón district. This initiative aimed to raise awareness about bullying among over 60 sixth-grade students. Importantly, these young individuals are often exposed to being victims, aggressors, or witnesses. Thus, the session provided essential guidance on how to confront bullying and its consequences.
Raising Awareness
Through its dedicated ambassadors, WBC Cares offers vital tools for responding to bullying incidents. Additionally, the program highlights the serious consequences that bullying can have for everyone involved. The talk was designed not only to inform students but also to equip them with effective strategies to prevent and combat school bullying.
Mary “La Explosiva” Villalobos: A Story of Overcoming
A particularly powerful moment in the session was the speech by champion Mary “La Explosiva” Villalobos. She bravely shared her personal story about the bullying she endured in elementary school. Moreover, she described how boxing transformed her life. Through the sport, she boosted her self-esteem, improved her health, and learned to defend herself. As she stated, “Boxing changed my life.”
A Positive Message for the Youth
The talk was met with great enthusiasm and success, engaging more than 60 students and their teachers. Consequently, the session ensured that a positive and impactful message reached all participants. Special thanks go to El Seguro del Maestro Primary School for graciously opening its doors and allowing us to share this valuable lesson.
Boxing Workshop and Special Gifts
To conclude the event, an interactive boxing activity enabled students to practice punches, confront their fears, and engage with the program’s ambassadors. In addition, each student received a WBC-branded mousepad as a small token. This serves as a reminder of the importance of standing up against bullying.
Ultimately, this event not only provided valuable tools but also left a lasting, positive impact on all the young participants. Thank you, WBC Cares, for continuing to inspire future generations!
