The Mission of WBC Cares: A Legacy of Solidarity and Global Support

As president of the WBC for the past ten years, I am proud to present the first WBC Cares Booklet, a reflection of the social actions undertaken by our organization. Through this effort, we aim to share how we have supported the boxing community and the less fortunate around the world.

Guided by the values of honesty, responsibility, respect, solidarity, and friendship, we have developed programs focused on improving the practice of boxing and supporting our boxers. In this way, we have left a legacy in the communities where we are present, offering continuous hope and support.

Today, with 26 chapters around the world, WBC Cares has solidified itself as one of the most robust philanthropic organizations. Inspired by the vision of Don José Sulaimán, we work selflessly, striving to create a positive impact in communities in need. Through our actions, we show that we can all be champions in life.

A Legacy of Love and Global Support

In each chapter of WBC Cares, we face various local challenges, adapting our actions to meet the needs of each community. A highlighted example of this work is our efforts in Ukraine, where we not only collect donations but also provide emotional and practical support to those affected by the war.

Thanks to the values represented by the WBC, we continue using our platform to assist those in need. Each of our volunteers, from boxers to community members, is a “compassionate angel,” demonstrating that the true spirit of boxing goes beyond the ring.

History and Social Commitment of the WBC

Founded in 1963 in Mexico City, the WBC has pioneered the regulation and unification of boxing standards at the international level. In addition to promoting the sport, we have stood out for our social commitment. Through initiatives like WBC Cares, we have delivered messages of hope to communities worldwide, using the inspiring power of our athletes to generate a positive impact beyond the ring.

Since its inception, the WBC has been guided by solid principles such as improving boxing, supporting boxers, and promoting a legacy of inclusion and human rights. Today, our mission continues to live on through each action of WBC Cares, reflecting an unwavering commitment to the sport and the global community.
